Hello everybody I’m starting this blog to talk about MY personal experience of living the life of a low limit player. I play Texas hold um a variant of poker that is extremely popular in casinos, television, and online. I have a regular paying job that pays the bills but I play poker for a part-time income. I study every day and work hard to improve my poker game. I watch training videos, listen to podcasts, take online poker courses and play regularly at my local casino Soboba all with the goal of one day being able to quit my job and become a full-time professional poker player.
We can dream right?! Truth is I like my job and I enjoy not having to worry about how am I going to pay my bills, plus I’m not that great of a player. Don’t get me wrong I’ve been playing for 8 years and I’ve had some success in low limit tournaments but nothing I can hang my hat on. Lately I’ve been playing 1/3 no limit holdem and having some great results. I play a tight aggressive game, ABC poker and I’ve been raking it in at these low limits for hundreds of dollars in a few hours.
I’ve had lucky streaks before but this one is different my game has evolved into bet for value, play position, don’t bluff, and never tilt mode! I’m very happy with my results and I owe it all to my dedication to improving my game as its helped me feel more comfortable when making Big decisions. So I’m starting this blog to basically keep a record and share my thoughts and hands with all you people out there that play poker… the game WE LOVE.
