WOW. A little more than a year later all I can say is WOW. Poker is a game of variance one day your on top of the world the next you’re at the very bottom.(Check out my last post) It doesn’t surprise me there so many poker players that are broke, that are here today and gone tomorrow.
My last year cash game stats were horrible I had a few $200-$300 sessions but mostly, lost every time I’d hit the tables . I’ve had many ups and downs this year, and most of them came from the cash game tables. Bad beats, bad play, inexperience, and most of all under rolled. I didn’t study much and played in a rush most of the time. I was very unhappy with my play and I vow to study hard and make cash games one of my strong points.
Things aren’t that bad though. I played 36 No Limit Holdem tournaments final tabled 11 and cashed for $1485. I even won 1 for $400 it was my highest cash of the year and also the highlight. I ran over a whooping field of 40!!! I went on a 4 final table streak in the middle of year that totally boosted my confidence and bankroll. I’m happy with my play but I feel my tournament play needs to improve especially on the bubble and final table.
I finished the year down -$104. It was my first full year keeping stats and I played every chance I got. I consider it a failure but I won’t give up. One day I will be a professional poker player but I know I need to improve my game thur studying and finding ways of maintaining focus in long sessions or times of high stress and pressure. I feel like 2014 has special waiting for me…..only time will tell…
